Music & Documentary

Subway Sessions was a music and documentary series capturing touring artists performing live acoustic sets in New York City subway stations. Each session featured musicians arriving between tour stops to perform intimate three-song sets filmed on location.

The project grew into a widely shared online series, amassing millions of views and featuring performances from Grammy-winning and nationally touring artists. Subway Sessions was featured in The Wall Street Journal and Billboard, and included appearances from Grammy-winning artists such as Damien Kulash of OK Go and the bluegrass group The Infamous Stringdusters.

The natural acoustics of the subway system became part of the experience itself — cavernous tunnels and tiled walls creating organic reverb that gave each performance a raw, resonant, and unexpectedly cinematic sound.

Produced, shot, and edited with a small collaborative team, the series focused on capturing authentic live performances and documentary moments within the unpredictable environment of the New York subway system.
